Venison

Farm raised venison is New Zealand's premium meat. It is served in some of the finest restaurants around the world. While it is tender, succulent and delicious to eat it is also good for you. Farm raised New Zealand venison is a very healthy red meat being naturally low in fat, high in iron and a good source of vitamins and minerals. Cooking is quick and easy with this mild tasting product which is ideal in our modern world.

Our role at Tikana in the production of venison is to supply sires for commercial deer farmers. Mating a Wapiti bull to Red deer hinds is utilizing Mother Nature to take advantage of maximum biological efficiency. The progeny that result from this are fast growing and high yielding.

There are two principle traits for venison that we select for and use – Meat yield and Growth. This ensures farmers buying our bulls can access genetics to benefit their farming operation, resulting in them being more profitable.
